Created by a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist/Anesthesiologist (CRNA) with almost 11 years of experience. Over that time, Trish learned the most ideal ways to approach children of all ages. Helping children understand a few essential pieces allows them to participate and reduce their anxiety on the day of their surgery. Age appropriate adventures help your child relate anesthesia to something they already understand. These books will also help parents who struggle to find the best way to teach their children about anesthesia.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Trish graduated as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1999 and immediately went to practice in a cardiac surgical intensive care unit (CSICU). She continued to be a CCU/CSICU RN until 2005 working in various hospitals along the east coast including Mass General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess (Boston, MA), Washington Hospital Center (Washington, DC), Hartford Hospital and St. Francis Hospital (Hartford, CT), and Mercy Hospital (Springfield, MA).
In 2005, Trish entered a nurse anesthesia program to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist/Anesthesiologist (CRNA). She graduated with her master's degree in the fall of 2007. She continues to work as a CRNA in Massachusetts and Connecticut. When she's not working she enjoys running, writing and teaching. She also founded Dive Anesthesia, a Continuing Education Company for CRNAs and Run Walk Southwick, a nonprofit organization that raises money for local causes.
